The "Talent Development" Debate

Internationally, there is quite a lot of debate about "talent development" at present, especially in regard to use of the term by NAGC in the US. Here is a long but excellent commentary on that debate, by Tim Dracup, former gifted education policy writer in the UK:

I see Tim's most important point as this one:

"Because there are such different positions within the field, we must recognise this diversity as a strength, or it will become a weakness. We must avoid if at all possible narrow definitions that alienate some parts of the gifted community."
