Once you have the dongle and have your laptop connected to the Interactive White board the cheapest and easiest way to connect iPads to them is by using AirServer software - About $6-7 per unit.  Simple and easy to install.

Excellent.  I will share this resource out at my school this term. Thank you team for the hard work.  A great initiative

News-o-matic is a hit with my Year 5 class, both with very able and lower readers.  I have created a task sheet where the students read a number of articles and then have to come back to the class and share what they read with the class.  Very easy and able to be self managed.  Headphones are a must when used in class.

In terms of books downloaded and used in iBook there are some things to be aware of.

These books are 'content' and in Apple'e eyes they belong to the Apple ID that downloaded them and should not be shared around devices.  Though free iBooks are fine to share.  It is illegal to share paid iBooks unless you pay for each individual version.

This is something our school is trying to come to terms with at the moment and how best to manage it.

We have Smart Boards throughout our school and have just invested in 30 iPads, which we intend to use across 3 classrooms to begin with.  I am wondering if there are any schools out there who have Smart Boards and are using iPads in conjunction with them?

If so, how are you doing this?  I know there is a Smart Board app and there is a dongle . . . but is this the best way?  How are schools using this technology together?

Mark is there any chance you would share your spreadsheet regarding costs as I am having trouble getting VPP pricing and only single pricing.  I have 30 new iPads to sort out and I would love to be able to accurately work costings out.

Thanks Monika.  It helped me get my thinking organised

I am being given the option of buying 15 new iPads for our school and are wondering what model to go for.  iPad2s are being phased out, so are these worth it or should I look at iPad Airs?

Then the second question is whether to go for Minis or full sized iPads.  Any help would be great, thank you

David a great app for any brainstorming (Inquiry type work) is Poplet.  The lite version is free I think and kids can put down all the things they now, including pictures, and they can write and draw.  It is also a great way for students to connect new info that they find.  Pic Collage is another great app you can use to create posters or connect learning.  There are a number of versions of a similar thing and many are free.  I am very jealous of teh 15 iPads.  We have just 2 in our whole school and I have one in my Year 5 class.
