    Hi Sarah, Allister and Steve,

Firstly 'agentic' - great word Sarah ...I had to look it up!

"Social cognition theory perspective that views people as self-organizing, proactive, self-reflecting and self-regulating, not just as reactive organisms"

To be an agentic learner I agree with you Sarah that  there has to be  purpose to learning. A worthwhile, authentic and valuable learning intention that your students see as woth striving for.  Given this, then the literacy and numeracy skills follow because they need to.   Given this e-learning is integrated seamlessly because that's the way we do things now.
Steve you have a great point that students are ready to use any technology they can get their hands on.  They will try different strategies to achieve the results they want and this is learning. Teachers who want to know the end result before they start and want to micro-manage  the whole learning process  are the handbrake.

I agree with you Todd. Research research research and  immerse yourself in exmples, readings, other peope's experiences.  I think given that, the next step is to synthesise some of those understandings and trial , as best you can, alternatives.  Armed with the knowledge of what happens after you trial these ideas I think you'll be in a pretty well thought out and analysed space to implement new ways of teahcing and learning .
