    Thanks Karyn,

May I ask what was your puzzle of practice and how did you develop your research questions?

    Kia ora tatou,

I am a PLD provider working in a particular school and have identified a real puzzle of practice in relation to raising the achievement for Pacifica students through more culturally responsive pedagogies. While we cannot initiate a proposal, my question is how have successful applicants engaged with PLD providers and at what stage in the process have they had such discussions?

I have tried to help a colleague join the EL Assessment group. She received the invitation e-mail and registered but has not received any confirmation e-mail  from the VLN need to log on to the site. Please advise.

    Thanks

    Kia ora Tracey,

Looks like an interesting project. I would like to know  how schools use technology to report to parents/whanau  of English language learners (ELLs). How do they inform parents and colleagues about progress using the English Language Learning Progressions (ELLP)?

    Ngā mihi

I have found a little gem by Steve Martin on using the SOLO taxonomy in science published in 2011.  The full title is "Using SOLO as a Framework for Teaching:  A case study in maximising achievement in science” Essential Resources Educational Publishers Limited. What I really like is the step by step guide to planning using teacher friendly templates. This is then followed by the pedagogy underpinning the SOLO. It is a really useful resource from a very talented and grounded practitioner.

    Kia oara

I moderate the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) VLN which is a closed site. However, when members post a discussion topic or reply to a topic there is no notification of this activity among the members of the group. Nevertheless, there is notification via e-mail if a new bookmark is added. Is there anything that I can to rectify this?
