    Hi Sophie.

I'm using https://code.org/ with my Year 5 and 6 class.  I made an account for myself and then added my class to it.  They have nearly finished the 20 introductory activities and some have now gone on the the next section of activities (around Mindcraft, Frozen, and Star Wars to name 3).  Both the boys and the girls are enjoying it.  You could start with a younger age group as there are activities for students from age 4.   Later I may use Scratch for extension activities.

    All the best.

    Hi Leigh

I am just talking to my Hapara dashboard Account Manager and she says yes, you can access the dashboard from iPads -through any browser you have on the iPad.  The only thing that doesn't work on the iPad is the Remote Control (if the students are working on an iPad you can't see what tabs they have open).  There is an app that allows you to do this and it will be released soon.

Like David, being able to talk to someone from World Wide Enterprise Support team has meant I have had no problems with the new version of Apple Configurator, plus having a few other issues fixed.

If you use this AC / VPP Support  link https://ssl.apple.com/support/itunes/vpp-edu/ and explain your problem, the VPP people will do their ‘thing’ before passing you on to the AC people, who seem to be more than willing to ring you –my AC contact was in Austin, Texas and worked from 8am to 7pm (NZ time) which was perfect for me.

Alternately, he suggested you ring  00800 7666 7666, ask to speak to the someone in the Enterprise Department and don’t mention Apple Configurator.

This is news to me:  My AC contact said you can give each student a redeem code (a different redeem code per student) for any apps bought by the school.  They will be able to keep this app for however long they want to keep it (ie: even after they have left school). This applies to the USA and we presume it applies to NZ.

Like David, I cannot speak highly enough about the support I received from the Apple Enterprise contact.  I have had quite a few calls with Joel (I got to the stage where I would book a call via email) and he was absolutely fantastic, guiding and explaining everything to me. Cool

    Hi Renee

Our technician suggested we buy Printopia and he set it up so black and white or colour printing could be chosen after the teacher has put in the password.  We've had no problems with Printopia and are very happy with it.

Good morning Nicky.  I have downloaded the 14 day trial of Puffin on an iPad.  My students are using Sumdog on it but have come across problems.  They tell me you can't drag answers into boxes.  Have you had this problem?  Have you over come it?

    Cheers, Barbara

Hi Barbara.  We have just purchased Otterboxes for our iPads in the Junior syndicate. The rrp was $133, but we managed to have the company sell them to us for $93 ex GST.  We chose the Otterboxes because we wanted good protection, as we have seen iPads elsewhere being dropped and the screen being broken.  We did look at other covers and the one we were originally going to buy (but not as robust) was $10 cheaper than the 'final' Otterbox price. Our iPads are being shared between rooms.  Even though we know our students will treat them with reasonable care, we have erred on the side of caution.
