In support of Tania's recommendation Software for Learning includes product information and examples from schools using Google Apps for Education, you may find useful.
I would also recommend considering developing a school wide plan for deploying Google Apps for Education vs you as an individual teacher creating a Google Site as this will support increased opportunities for collaboration and learning across the curriculum.
Webinar - in a US context but some useful ideas for consideration are explored.
Enabling elearning - regularly highlights new resources, links and discussions
Please share a resource or group you have discoverd on the VLN...include a link too please.
Posted a link to this article from the latest edition of Computers in New Zealand Schools on Twitter last night, resulting in some interesting feedback and ideas for further discussion.

Ideas explored in the article could provide some useful focus and considerations for professional dialogue in schools and for those exploring BYOD.
Excellent Kelly, as Karen said "go for it". Feel free to use any of the content on the EduCampNZ wiki and list your event on the home page. Any questions please post here or happy to chat on skype.
One recommendation about the venue...you need wireless, it needs to be robust and a network that can be open for the day. It can be frustrating when those serendipitous moments of learning and conversation are hijacked because a site is blocked.
Cheers

Always good to personally meet the people I have been connecting with online.
Also the session collaboratively led by teacher, Tim Kong and student, Zuni Preece. They shared valuable insights from their unique perspectives as both learners and teachers around the use of Scratch. I believe the un-conference format really helped promote these interactions and motivated me to think more about the opportunities for students to talk about their learning ( Thanks @timoslimo )
Also have to acknowledge the contributions of two college students who participated in Karen's social networking/VLN session plus the balance of teachers from across the sector who attended…good stuff!
Heading to EduCampTaiTokerau in July…looking forward to it.
The EduCampNZ wiki includes links to resources and discussion topics from EduCampTaiTokerau.
Recommend the Smackdown Wallwisher, lots of contributions to explore. I participated in a great discussion around use of iOS/mobile devices...have also included resource links shared and some useful posts exploring iPedagogy. Hope this will be an continuing conversation at EduCampAkl in August
Superb venue thanks again to St Francia Xavier Catholic School in Whangarei for hosting.
