    Kia ora koutou,

As a way of building a learning community among staff I have invited our staff to take part in a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) offered through Coursera by the University of Melbourne on Assessment and Teaching of 21st Century Skills.  If you don't know much about MOOCs check out Coursera, anything you ever wanted to learn about is there and it's a great way to keep your professional learning up in areas that interest you and at your own pace.

I chose this MOOC because it is something our school is interested in as a whole at the moment so I thought it was a good opportunity to begin some discussions around it.  Myself and 6 other staff members (from a cross section of departments) are going the course so it will be interesting to see how it unfolds.  We are going to meet every Thursday lunchtime for a quick catch up/discussion/question time while the course is running.

How do you encourage learning conversations among staff at your school?

    Kia ora,

I am the SCT at Bream Bay College in Ruakaka.  This is my second year in this position.  I really enjoy it and would like to find other SCTs to bounce ideas off and learn from!

Hope this group can grow so we can support each other.

    Nga mihi
