I agree with Bill also. I think as a Principal sometimes if an area is not a particular strength putting the right people in the right place can make a huge difference to change.
Thank you for the webnair opportunity last week, what a fabulous way to run PD across the country. Throughout the year I have been struck by how we have so many teachers who are lacking in IT knowledge and yet so many schools have been involved with IT contracts, what has happened to all our IT leaders? SUSTAINABILITY. Surely this is a key word. Lets US as leaders set expectations, grow the vision and empower our staff about 21 century learning or else push them so hard that they consider a change in career. My benchmark is ' would I be happy with that teacher teaching my child and knowing my child is being prepared for 2020?'
How do Principals/Leaders ensure their elearning is sustainable? Just a few thoughts...
* ensure elearning purchases and PD is embedded in the strategic plan
* Ensure you have an inspirational teacher (or yourself) who can drive this in the school
* Keep up to date with the new elearning tools, ideas which is displayed throughout various websites.
Yes I am using study ladder on my iPad. I am using proton as the app which to play through. I had to get the tech guy to bypass through our server but we are all good to go now.

This is my first time with VLN and I'm overwhelmed by the knowledge here and ideas. Now I have changed schools this year going from 1:2 digital to 3 classroom computers. Sooooo I have started slowly with our class blog and I am amazed how engaged they are. At present we write the blogs together and design a photopeach or place photos on the post. They are so keen that after we have published I have parents in the classroom being dragged by their children to look at what they have been doing. Yay for our beautiful learners.
