Hey guys - please help me to help one of our Te Manawa Pou participants, Elaine has two accounts, one has a full profile (elaine.newton) and one incomplete profile (ElaineN) - could you please delete the ElaineN account, and please send Elaine an email with her email address / username for the remaining account?  Hope this makes sense?

    Many thanks, Dee

    Hi help team,

Just wondeirng if there is a limit on the number of files that can be uploaded to a group resource?

I've uploaded 19 files to one of our group resources over the past few weeks, and have only just cottoned on that only the most recent 10 are still accessible?

    Kia ora koutou,

I can understand how you must have reservations and apprehensions in teaching te reo Māori.  In saying this, your very participation in Te Manawa Pou highlights that you are committed to the teaching and learning of te reo, especially given you are involved in this programme, which highlights your committment to ensuring that te reo Māori is alive and well in NZ classrooms.

I commend you all for your effort and dedication, we are very fortunate to have teachers like you out there, willing to make a difference.

Teaching te reo can be scary, and an aim of Te Manawa Pou is to better support teachers, to make teaching te reo less 'scary' by way of the provision of information, resources and strategies to improve teacher confidence, the sheer benefits of networking with similar teachers in similar situations can only add to the benefits.

I encourage you all to celebrate what fabuous things you are already undertaking in your teaching.  Hei konei me ngā mihi nui, nā Dee

P.S. you guys should be posting in the main group discussion area, other participants could very well miss your postings given they are cuurently sitting on their own out of the main Te Ika a Māui discussion area at the moment (because you've created a new discussion topic instead of replying or posting to the main discussion?)

    Kia ora Bev,

Kia kaha - I think your goal of promoting regular te reo Māori usage in your classroom is realistic and achievable.  I like how you have even articulated how you intend to do this - kōia kei a koe (good on you!).

I notice though, like Jennifer and Julie, you are creating a new topic discussion each time you post, and others may miss out on reading your kōrero, given it is sitting outside of the main discussion area for the subgroup 'Te Ika a Māui'.

No biggie, but you may get more response to a posting made in the main group discussion area.

    Ngā mihi, nā Dee

Kia ora Rachael, kia ora hoki koe Jennifer

Wow, what a great human resource to have in your school - you should invite her to kōrero with you :-)

    Ngā mihi, nā Dee

p.s. at this stage it really only was the wire posts widget that we were wanting from our profile options to appear also in a group widget....but that could change.

p.s. we also considered using the group owners' message board to send the weekly tidbits to group members, but thought again that would mean them having to exit our group to view the message board (which coud be replied to a few times, and then the original post be 'hidden').

man, I wish I knew how to speak techie lingo!

    Cheers x 100, Dee

Well gee whiz, didn't think of that!  We'll give it a blast. Cheers x 1000 :o) Dee

Me again...I was wondeirng if the profile widget 'users online' could be used as a group widget but instead be 'group members online'?

    Cheers, Dee

It appears our group blog /pg/blog/temanawapou/read/53625/ko-te-wiki-tuawh is only allowing a maximum of 4 comments to be viewed at any one time....any chance this could be opened up for us?  Is there a way we can change the blog settings to allow more comments than this to be accessed / viewed by our group members? It'd be nice if we could view them all from the very first to the most recent?

Or, is this just happening because some members have deleted their comments since they were initially posted?

    Any advice appreciated, cheers, Dee
