    Hi Mark

Totally agree - the 'why' is the crucial discussion. The 'why' conversations foster shared understanding and provide direction to the decision making in regard to the what, when and how. Open meetings, open days, newsletters, shared readings, examples, surveys, facebook updates, twitter feeds, public post it boards,  all assist in creating the understanding of the 'why.'

    Greetings All,

I am currently the Project Leader of the Blended eLearning team and I have been nodding in agreement with all of you as I have reading your tips to use when appointing staff. Like Chrissie my ears would prick up if an applicant began describing how they use the tools of eLearning to personalize and diversify learning for individual students. I would also be hoping that they would elaborate, discussing how the use of eLearning tools can scaffold home school partnerships – fostering learning and engagement which occurs seamlessly in a range of contexts.

Vision, vision and more vision. Vision that is owned by everyone to the extent that it is highly visible and everyone knows where 'we are at and where we are going.'

One of the ways that keeps the vision and the goals to the fore front is to have these displayed. I have seen several good examples of the vision and the strategic plan being clearly displayed eg. across the back of the staffroom wall, at the top of the staircase, in the main foyer. This makes them very evident and a constant reminder of the 'big picture' and the goals / steps required to get there.

Thanks for this article which again highlights the potential  google docs in the classroom. In a recent posting How might google docs help   Dave Winter  of the Connected Cluster described the  uses in a range of wordles.

I believe that the Teacher dashboard will maximise the potential of using of google docs, making it even easier for teachers and students to use.

I know many NZ Primary school teachers use the Innovative Teachers Planner developed by Eric Frangenheim and his team. This is currently being developed as an online resource and indications are that it will be available for 2012.

I meet up with Eric recently and I hope to have the opportunity to see a trial version of this  - so I will keep you posted

    Hi Allanah

We are currently in discussions with the Ministry to finalise the Milestone templates (MS4 & MS6) and the Variation template (for second year clusters only)

We are hoping to have these approved shortly - so we will make sure everyone is aware of these as soon as they are ready

    Kind regards

    Jo
