By Digital Citizenship model we are talking about a cluster wide Cybersafety policy that includes acceptable use of all internet use e.g. school LMS's and Wikispaces, Blogs, Social networking etc
We discussed at the lead teachers meeting developing a cluster wide digital citizenship model. What do you think this should include?

So Matt, how many devices do you have at Selwyn Ridge? Have you set up email addresses for each device so you can have itunes accounts e.g. ipad1@selwynridge.school.nz ?
Sorry about all the questions, im just trying to get clear in my head how schools can cope if they decide to purchase a large amount of devices?
I agree that just because it is difficult we should not be doing this illegally.
Would it not be easier to just use the gifting an app option rather than have say 60 itunes accounts? If you could copy and paste 20 email addresses into the gift option and then keep a record of all those gift codes on a spreadsheet?
Just a thought.
Yes that makes sense to me. However being in the business of training teachers and giving them advice on the best way to do things i do have to inform them of the legal issues around what they are doing. But i do believe that most schools are just syncing large amounts of devices to one account. Some are using the "gift app" idea to make it a bit more legal.
Is iOS5 going to stop this syncing? Matt can you answer that?
Thanks Jillian
So each child has their own iTunes account?
OK so the Apple rules state that it really has to be one iTunes account per device if you want to have paid apps. Surely this is impossible for schools with more than 10 devices to manage.
Do the schools with a large number of devides sync them all the same so every iPod/iPad has exactly the same apps etc?
