Hi Kate,
We have been using Blogger for years but have moved to KidBlog this year. I won't go back to blogger again. We have 129 Year 7/8 in our Syndicate. Setup and management is so simple. We have paid to upgrade at $40 per class but it is well worth it. Can embed Google docs in on upgrade and kids can customise theme. Here is the link if you want to see. http://kidblog.org/class/KarenMillssClass/posts
It probably depends on what you are trying to achieve. What's the learning you want achieve and how best can you improve learning outcomes for your students?
I have been teaching in a 1:1 multimedia class for 10 years. We have had GAFE for 5 years. Looked at Teacher Dashboard but decided there are better ways to spend that money. Set up good systems for managing docs and it's not needed.
I have someone who would enjoy this Suzie. A girl who is level 6B/P.
Hi Susie,
Here is my class blog and there are links down the side to my Ind student blogs. Your kids might like to comment on my kids posts? Do your kids have their own blog?

I emailed Apple recently with a suggestion regarding a similar idea. I am going to be using my own personal ipad in my classroom next year and have a folder with apps in it that are for me only. I have suggested you be able to add a passcode to a folder that way you could have your own teacher folder that kids cant access.
Parents could also use this with apps for their kids as well. Seems like a simple solution for ipads are being used by multiple users? Does anyone know of way to do this already?
Hi Vicki,
I ran the blogging workshop at Ulearn last year so must have been that one. Feel free to come and visit. How exciting to be having a sabbatical?
I am also interested in how the Flipped classroom might work in our environment. Lots of reading and thinking to do before next year.

Afternoon All,
I am currently the Facilitator of the iTeam Tauranga cluster but will be back in the classroom next year after a 7 year break from a mainstream classroom. (OMG!!) Anyway, I will be the Syndicate Leader of a Multimedia Syndicate (1:1 Macbooks) at Tauranga Intermediate and will be teaching Year 8.
Our policy at school is that if there is a photo, we use first names only and parents have the option of asking that their child not be on any document e.g newsletter or website. If there is no photo we can use full names e.g. sports results etc. Also, we discuss with the students why we have this policy and use it as a teaching point in discussions around digital citizenship.
Hi Josie,
I imported all the stories off the CD's into iTunes and put them all in Playlist called School Journals. The whole playlist then needs to put on the computer/s that you use to sync the ipads. If your computer is used then you don't need to worry about this step. When you plug the iPads in to iTunes simply go to Music, Tick Sync Music, Choose selected playlists and then tick the playlist. See example below.
Hope those instructions are clear?
