Lavinia, Accessit integrates brilliantly with SCIS. It uses a function called Rapid Entry where you simply enter ISBNS. Once your list is complete Accessit searches multiple cataloging services including SCIS. Adding catalogue records and book cover images is very easy this way. No need to go through the SCIS website then import Marc records. Seamless cataloging.
We use Accessit which enables very smooth integration with the Wheelers ebook platform. It's easy to set up and importing purchased ebooks into the catalogue is a breeze.
Very good resource that I've added to my collection too thank you. Gillian
Try some of these links for ideas. At our school we subscribe to Fiction Express, an online reading site where children read books that are written chapter by chapter and where they can vote for the continuing plot (age 10+). We also have subscriptions to Scholastic Learning Zones (formerly Lexile reading) where enrolled students read books either in print or now online and sit quizzes. Contact your local rep for more info. It's a great new site. We also subscribe to Sunshine Books online and Sunshine Classics which uses an app for students to read books (assigned by the teacher) and do the associated activities. All worth exploring. I hope the 'livebinder' link works for you. It's my collection of sites for digital stories and reading. Let me know if it gives you trouble accessing it and I will deal with it sternly:-) I do hope this is of some help. Cheer, Gillian
