Kia ora tātou
After a few years of hard work by a number of people, Kiwi Kids Songs has been rereleased with 50 new songs. A highglihg of the process for me is hearing how excited teachers are to use them. Early on in the process of investigating how possible it was to rerelease some songs, I was in a zoom call with two people who were involved in the original project. They were enthusiastic for their work being shared with another generation. Thanks for all of the great feedback that has been sent via the list. I hope that new songs will be added to the collection in the future but that will be dependent on a number of thing (funding, the use of the rereleased songs).

Being based in Nelson, I’m conscious of those music educators based in Auckland, Northland and Hamilton and the impact of Covid-19 on you and your students. I hope you’re planning a holiday once Christmas rolls around (it’s only 7 weeks!)

It’s the time of year that teaching vacancies are being shared, and I’d please ask that you include the town/city in the subject line. Not everyone knows where Westown School is.
