Visarts summary -  to the 16th May 2020

Talofa lava, Malo e lelei, Kia Orana and Mauri Ora koutou...

This week brings changes to peoples’ ‘bubbles’ with many of us returning to classrooms with our students. I think my eyes will appreciate the reduction in direct screen time for sure.

Major threads over the past week (others at end)  have included:

Recent announcement from NZQA about waiving Visual Arts verification Threads have spanned topics such as, school examinations, folio boards, budget constraints, Level 3 dates and implications and a call for collaborative resources to support Level 1 and 2 assessment decisions this year.

The continued invisibility of Pasifika arts in education raised by Dagmar - another significant discussion that demands consideration - I will send a link to a revised “Pasifika Artists” resource I have compiled from recommendations

Online Scholarship PD - the response was overwhelming but I have collated the list - more on this to come...
