Kia ora tātou

I’m sometimes surprised about what gets discussed on the Musicnet list. After moderating it for a few years, I thought I’d read it all. The discussion this week on how young you can start on a double reed instrument was a first. It also shows how valuable this list is. Just think, amongst all the NCEA assessment discussions that dominate this list, there is a quick-fire responses about bassoons.

Almost as surprising as when I was walking down the main street of Greytown last Saturday morning and hearing a teenager busking on a harmonica, playing “Dirty Old Town” by the Pogues.
