Musicnet Summary 9 Sept 2017

Kia ora tātou,

It was a quieter week on Musicnet this week. Maybe it was winter sports tournament for secondary schools, election fever or magnolias in bloom. For myself I spent time watching this video explaining how the drum sound of the 1980’s (gated reverb) is back in a big way; followed by how two songs on the TV Series Stranger Things were created.

The New Zealand String Quartet is offering $5 tickets to their upcoming concerts in Wellington, Wairarapa and Upper Hutt. Check out their Youtube channel where the quartet discusses what they will be performing, along side other insights including how accordian is used in one of the works, Jack Body’s Saetas.
