We recently hosted a webinar with Steve Bargh NZQA. Many participants have requested another live session with Steve, so we have now set up an informal 30min Youtube LIVE streamed meeting for 8th November 3.30-4.00pm.

smileyFORUM: Designing inclusive, innovative learning environments, 14 Nov 2016 - 14 Dec 2016

As we consider the environment in which our ākonga learn, we need to ensure that it includes all learners. Sensitivity to individual differences and learner variability should inform decisions relating to pedagogy, practice, and design of a flexible space. In this forum, we will discuss:

  • designing an inclusive innovative learning environment that works for all learners

  • using digital technologies to remove barriers and support learning

  • using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to create an inclusive innovative learning environment.

This discussion will take place in the Enabling e-Learning: Teaching group.

Enabling e-Learning forum: How can we foster digital fluency? As we grow our e-learning capacity in schools, one thing is clear, our students will need to be digital savvy and digitally literate; therefore schools need to foster digital fluency, so that students can thrive in a digital age. What is digital literacy and digital fluency and why do our students need it? Respond and score yourself a community badge.

Half ILE and half single cell: Rachel Weinberg asks if anyone has a school where ILEs are being developed in half of the school, and the other half remains as single cell classrooms? Is this the same for you?

Antarctica - cool science in action: Shelley invites us to join her for the trip of a lifetime down to Scott Base on Ross Island, Antarctica. This special field trip will take place in term 4 from 9-15 November. Click on the link to find out how you and your class can be involved.
