What is the most exciting/inspiring thing that you have been involved with in education that involves e-learning tools or pedagogies?

The most exciting thing for me has been being connected. Since joining twitter I have been privileged to be part of a network of amazing and inspiring educators, nationally and globally. For me, the vision of the NZC, confident, connected, actively involved, lifelong learners, should be true for teachers and students. Being connected to other educators offers new opportunities to learn and share, invite feedback and interact on new levels.

What are you most looking forward to in regards to 21st Century education this year?

I enjoy my work in schools. Every day is different as each school is on  their own journey. All my schools are using a Google Apps for Education platform and as a Google Certified Trainer, I love the opportunity to explore these tools with teachers and students as these tools offer new learning opportunities. They enable collaboration with each other, and also with others locally, nationally and globally. Students are able to share their learning in new ways, offer feedback and connect with authentic audiences.

I look forward to working with teachers to support students with additional learning needs to find solutions to overcome challenges and to enable all students to achieve educational success.

What do you get up to in your relaxation time?

Haha. Relaxation time?

This year I am undertaking two Educational Leadership papers focusing on coaching and mentoring. Besides that, I love to spend time with family and friends, especially weekends and holidays at the beach. I have a husband, four boys and four grandchildren. I love to knit for my grandchildren and read ( paper and digital). And play games online!
