Tēnā koutou, talofa lava. There's no better time to access virtual PLD (anytime, anywhere, anyhow), than from the comfort of your school or home during winter. This term we address some common e-learning trends and warmly invite you to get involved in our dedicated e-learning forum discussions and live workshops.
You may wish to book the following events from the Enabling e-Learning calendar into your own calendars. Feel free to tell your friends and colleagues!

Audience: Primary and secondary school teachers, leaders or e-learning leaders interested in developing students' digital literacy, problem solving and collaborative skills through coding and computer programming. Come join us on this thread in the Enabling e-Learning | Teaching group when it goes live on 29th July.

When we talk about Teaching as Inquiry, we immediately think about Spirals of Inquiry and the work of Timperley, Kaser and Halbert. From a Māori perspective Inquiry/Pakirehua has always been and is what we’ve always done, it's part of our DNA. Ancestors, tipuna show the way for us; their stories, experiences and knowledge are a natural part of understanding how we (as Māori) inquire, are curious and solve problems. Using this approach, kaiako and tumuaki (in kura) have been engaging in cycles of inquiry to improve student achievement and the results have been hugely successful.
Come and join Tammy Gardiner and Marama Reweti-Martin (Te Toi Tupu facilitators for Assessment, Management and Tumuaki projects) as they share the story and success of Pakirehua.
Audience: All kaiako, tumuaki, teachers and leaders interested in raising achievement for Māori students using teaching as Inquiry with a Māori world view. This webinar will be supported with thread in the Enabling e-Learning | Leadership group. Hosted in Adobe Connect with Tessa Gray. REGISTER NOW!
Future-focused schools acknowledge the important role of technologies as we prepare our students for a world beyond school. What does it take to be an e-leader in a future-focused educational secondary environment? What needs to be taken into consideration when resourcing and supporting all learners within and beyond the school? How can we help each other, as e-leaders to support the work we do in school? Come join Richard McLaren (Assistant Principal, Shirley Boy’s High School, Christchurch) as he shares his experiences of e-leadership in a secondary school.
Audience: Secondary teachers, leaders, e-leaders interested in e-leadership in a secondary context. This webinar will be supported with thread in the Enabling e-Learning Leadership group. Hosted in Adobe Connect with Tessa Gray. REGISTER NOW!
