Welcome to Term 4! We trust you have had a refreshing break and a good start to the final term in 2014.

Connected Educator Month is over half-way through now and it has been a great opportunity to connect with others across a range of free PLD opportunities.

As a part of Connected Educator Month, Enabling e-Learning and the Ministry of Education are running a series of webinars. One has already been completed, NZQA and assessment online, with two more coming up in October.

Using the e-Learning Planning Framework as a tool for strategic planning and staff development, 23 October 3:45-4:45pm

The new online e-Learning Planning Framework (eLPF) tool is now available to all schools. Glenview School principal Gaylene Preston, Barb Keane from Tua Marina School and LWDT facilitators Kathe Tawhiwhirangi and Greg Carroll will share how they are using the tool in schools and answer your questions.  To register for this free webinar »

Each fortnight, we like to say thank you by nominating a community member for active participation in the Enabling e-Learning / VLN Groups.

This week we’d like to acknowledge Natasha Furness for taking the plunge and starting a couple of discussion threads to help find answers to her questions. We look forward to seeing Natasha some more around the Enabling e-Learning community groups and across the VLN.

Natasha moved from the UK in 2011 and is currently teaching Year 2s at Belmont School in Lower Hutt.

  • NZQA and assessment online: This discussion focuses on the recent webinar presented by Steve Bargh of NZQA in which he outlined where NZQA is headed with online assessment.
