Talofa lava, kia ora, welcome to the latest fortnightly Enabling e-Learning round up.

OPLC VLN and Enabling e-Learning community groups can support online communities of practice (OPCs), established so that educators can explore ways to improve learning outcomes for all students.

Trends are showing more and more collaborative projects emerging in these group spaces. This is rewarding to see, as community members come together (virtually) to co-construct content and help meet individual/collective needs.

Focus on our priority learners

 

  • Indigenous cultures and e-LearningManu Faaea-Semeatu started a discussion on how Māori or Pasifika learners might see their cultural identities through the use of e-learning. Manu asks, Is there a danger of losing a sense of cultural identity if there's too much focus on the tools - and invites us to share what 'true integration' would look like.
  • UDL, access and creativity: Catriona Pene shares the following video on how one student uses the right tool so he can finally find his voice. Very moving.
