Incorporating (free) LEARNZ virtual field trips into Teaching and Learning programmes (webinar)

 

  • 24 July 3:45-4:45. Would you and your school like to use, or make better use of the LEARNZ free teaching and learning programme? Barrie Matthews from the LEARNZ team will share examples from upcoming, and recently-completed, LEARNZ field trips of how classroom teachers all over New Zealand use LEARNZ to support their teaching and learningprogrammes.

 

How are we engaging every learner? Sharing stories of effective practice (webinar)


  • 25 July 3:30-4:30. A shared look at how we can design courses to allow every learner to bring their prior knowledge. Perspectives on special educational needs, Pasifika and Māori education will be explored, as well as stories from two schools.
 

Science in the classroom - unpacking the Science Learning Hub (webinar)


  • 2 August 3:45-4:30. Join Mary Loveless, Project Leader Primary Science Education at Waikato University and Joy Kitt, Blended e-Learning National Science facilitator in this discussion focused on accessing and unpacking the Science Learning Hub as a resource to support classroom science teaching and learning.

 

e-Learning as inquiry - Sharing our stories (forum discussion)


  • From 16 July-10 August. This is your opportunity to share an inquiry, ask questions about the process or get help planning your own from people who have trod the path before you. Commentators include: Claire Amos (Epsom Girls Grammar) and Mark Herring (ITC2LEARN).

  • From 6 August – 21 August. Join this discussion to ask questions about getting started, share how blogs are being used within schools to develop communication, collaboration, and deeper levels of reflection. Skilled bloggers will be available to share their experience: Allanah King, Kimberley Rivett, and Stephanie Thompson.

 

How you might use the e-Learning Planning Framework to plan and review progress (webinar)


5 September 2012 3.45-4.45pm. Join this panel discussion with Blended e-Learning facilitators Greg Carroll, Karen Melhuish Spencer, Tessa Gray and Annemarie Hyde (DP Mokoia Intermediate). They will be sharing how you can use the e-Learning Planning Framework to plan and review progress in your school. This webinar aimed at school leaders and participants in the NAPP programme.

Join in this forum discussion to share and find new ideas on: how to make connections with your community using different technologies, and the benefits provided by these connections. Commentators include:  Moana Timoko, Janelle Riki and Togi Lemanu (National Blended e-Learning facilitators for Māori and Pasifika).

 

Social media and ethics for teachers working online (webinar)


  • 12 September 3:30-4:30. Nicky Kingston from the Teachers Council will be sharing a new website the Teacher's Council have created containing guidelines for teachers on ethical social media use and a range of resources including different scenarios for schools to explore. The webinar will provide educators with the chance to explore this new website and engage in discussion around the issues it raises.

  • 19 Sep 2012, 3.45pm - 4.45pm. Dorothy Burt, (Point England School), Mark Quigley (Orewa College) and Donna Smith (St Hilda’s Collegiate School) will share their vision, process and progress for BYOD (Bring your own device) in each of their schools. This webinar is aimed at both Primary and secondary school teachers, leaders.
