Here's an interesting video that illustrates an approach taken in a US High School, using iPads across the curriculum. There are a lot of useful ideas and tips on how these devices were used.
I like that the one of the key elements in this is collaboration. Too often there is a misconception that students using a digital device means they are working alone; this video illustrates the collaborate aspect of technology use in classrooms.
