Our first ICT Lead Teacher workshop for 2011 is on this Wednesday (16th Feb) at Russell Street School. The morning officially starts at 9am, however please arrive by 8.40 so we have time for intros and a news catch-up. This year, the cluster will provide a nice morning tea, but not lunch. So those who need to travel will be able to get away quickly at 12.30pm.
As a cluster, during 2011 we must contribute to 'The Virtual Learning Network' (VLN), sharing events, ideas, reflections and successes. This is a new thing. It is intended that the VLN will develop into a successful collaborative teaching and learning community across New Zealand. As part of the MoE 'ICT Cluster Programme', one of the national goals is:
'Increase the capability of the sector by sharing online professional reflections to inform colleagues of the challenges and opportunities afforded by e-learning.'
Our Linked Cluster Goal is:
'Establish a scaffolded, reflective practice format that encourages and enables professional growth.'
Our National Facilitator, Nick Rate, will be at the workshop to introduce you to the VLN, discuss its purpose and to show you how to contribute to it.
Below is an outline of the morning.
8.40: Welcome, introductions and news (Lyn)
9.00: Leadership development (Carol Lynch)
11.00: Morning tea
11.20: Looking at the year ahead (Lyn)
11.30: Learning about the VLN (Nick Rate)
12.30: Workshop finishes
Please bring your laptop.
I'm looking forward to us all being together again!
Lyn
