ICT in Schools Report released

You may have already caught this news story, but if not, you may be interested in having a look at the ICT in Schools Report 2011, released by the 2002 Communications Trust: http://www.2020.org.nz/index.php/programmes/ict-in-schools

The report offers findings on:

  • How prepared schools are for ultra-fast broadband, and KAREN, and how they use the Internet, with the NZC Online site being the most used TKI site.
  • The impact of the internet on teaching and learning.
  • How students are accessing and using social software.
  • The levels of access to the internet at home.
  • How well schools are managing cybersafety, such as through working with Netsafe.
  • The way schools manage hardware and infrastructure, including networking classrooms, technical support, hosting and budgeting.
  • How ICT is used in schools.

The Executive Summary makes for an interesting, quick (holiday!) read :-)
