e-Learning Round-Up | 21 November 2011

Only a few weeks to go this term, but the community has been as busy as ever. Here’s a quick overview of what’s going on. And you can also keep up with Enabling e-Learning via Twitter and Facebook.

Karen M  |  Enabling e-Learning Community Co-Ordinator

Member of the week

Each week we'll profile someone who has made a valuable contribution to our e-Learning community. This week, it's....

  • Annemarie Hyde: Annemarie is the deputy principal and e-learning leader at Mokoia intermediate, part of the Rotorua Lakes Cluster. Annemarie is an active and enthusiastic participant in our community.

Group of the Week

  • Whakatu Schools: This is an e-Learning Cluster in Nelson. Their group is a great example of the way members of a cluster are sharing their reflections in a collaborative, public way so others can gain from their professional development.

e-Learning in the VLN Groups

  • The 30 Day Challenge: This monthly focus in the Enabling e-Learning: Leadership group is exploring ways to recruit staff with a focus on sustaining e-learning developments in school.
  • Acceptable Use documents for Netsafe: NetSafe would like to look at what schools are currently using as Use Agreements for students and staff, and are asking schools to send documents to them.

Bring your own device

There are now two groups dedicated to exploring the concept of BYOD ('bring your own device'):

  • BYOD in Schools: A group for discussing the issues, concerns, inspirations and future visions for learners bringing their own device to school to support their learning.
