    I would like to know:

    • How does the annual plan and strategic plan reflect within the budget?
    • What are some of the reasons behind the role decline?
    • What have the community said about the strategic plan and the annual plan? how have they supported the learning vision in the past?
    • What were your estimated projection forecast for your school roll in October?
    • How do the BOT's expectations meet the needs of our strategic plan?

  • 23/4Thanks, Karen. We were fortunate enough to be part of an ELearning cluster from 2009-2011. Unpacking the e-Learning framework I did purely of interest when it was in draft. A lot of what we have implemented into our school was based on understanding where we (our learning community) wanted to be according to our strategic plan.

    So to answer the question, What does e-learning leadership look like in 2012 as schools work through the issues and challenges of resourcing and getting the best out of e-learning for achievement?  How should a principal approach her/his leadership role in e-learning? In my view, a Principal needs to be able to have an open mind and understand where the school is heading strategically. Plans for development should be aligned with the bigger picture identifying how e-learning can assist with the teaching of the curriculum. But a Leader can be anyone who has been given this responsibility to enable sustainability through out the school community.

    Relationships are developed where the Principal is part of the whole concept being collaborative and responsible for modelling best practise or modelling responsible behaviours. Principal is part of the e-learning curriculum team providing opportunities for all staff members to grow. A principal who does not have the expertise to model or understand the infrastructure will build networks and trust with staff or companies to allow the infrastructure to happen. Sourcing funding to build the infrastructure will possibly happen over time as your strategic plan allows. ie. breaking down a computer lab and redistributing computers into classrooms will open up a new learning space but then where will the teachers' place them when they have them. This will impact on extra plugs being put into classrooms and also the wasted electrical plugs in the Computer lab. 

    Community consultations with families - Home School Partnerships in Literacy, Numeracy, Learning Languages all combine an aspect of E-Learning whether it be inquiry or ICT.

    Tools implementation into the curriculum are introduced - Senior staff members are given the opportunity to develop their own learning and then introduced into the classroom environment. 

    In a nutshell, I agree with Karen and the developing leadership across the curriculum, across the school learning environment and beyond. Leadership for anyone in this aspect is understanding all the dimension of the plan and looking at where you are now and where you want to be as a school. 

    1: Strategic Plan which incorporates sustainability, 2: Relationships - which look at empowering leaders throughout the school ie. student texperts, financial holders or stakeholders in the community 3: Professional Learning which is collaborative 4: Pedagogy 5: Infrastructure 6: Sustainability

    This then needs to be reviewed for ongoing sustainability.
