Thank you to all that have planned, organised and participated in this amazingly inspiring event! There has been so many wonderful (inclusive) ideas that I have come away with. Dan has "switched" the light on for me particularly, I am looking for science everywhere now (I wish I could switch the light off at bedtime though!). The converations I've had with fellow colleagues at the conference have been invaluable and a true highlight. I will continue to work on and develop our science journalling, next step is expose the link to the key competencies!! PS: Still can't get my head around tahi rua tahi!!
Thank you once again :0)
thanks to all ....was an excellent networking experience with some new and perfect ideas to try....particularly enjoyed Dan and the ease with which we can be inclusive....thanks Dan. Lovely weekend in Auckland and home to some children keen to share their earthquake experience! No damage and a good "practice"
An opportunity for purposeful learning with context!

I would like to thank all concerned for a very worthwhile two days. The balance of theory and practical was good. There was inspiration to be found in the presentations. Dr Dan Hikuroa and Tarewa Williams made us feel we could help young Maori feel connected with science through their culture. I have come away determined to do better.
Hi crew
I thought I'd experiment and have created a Facebook group to see if we can generate more discussion over in that space as well. I'm on Facebook all the time and have various groups connected to my News-feed which makes it easier for me to stay in touch with what is going on. I'll continue to play around with linking the VLN site into that space too.
The Facebook group has the same name as the VLN site, Primary Science PLD (hope that is okay, I can change it otherwise?) and feel free to post pictures, articles, inspirational quotey things etc and especially share what is happening in your rooms.

Thinking especially of all our Wellington and lower North Island delegates. Hope you manage to get home tonight despite the transport chaos caused by the series of severe earthquakes this afternoon.
Hi Science Team
Thanks for the past 2 days, really well organised and so much great learning. Thank you all for your organisation of everything. Looking forward to going home and trying some new ideas with my little scientists. Cheers again.
Anyone have a starting point for assessing the development of my science learners???? how well do they show explain their experiences, explain their evidence etc etc very hard thing to assess no matter how we look at it. Alli is looking for some answers.....someone out there has an answer, just gotta find that person!
Setting up a learning environment: How to engage all learners not just the ones in the middle – dream big!
